Megan serves as an impartial investigator of complex and sensitive workplace complaints including sexual and other workplace harassment, discrimination, wage and hour and employment law compliance. In addition, Megan provides advice to employers on state and federal employment laws to help them achieve business objectives while complying with the law. She conducts training on harassment, discrimination, and retaliation prevention, conducting effective investigations, disabilities, accommodations, and managing leaves.
Prior to joining Ellis Buehler Makus, Megan worked for an international Fortune 500 company as an Employment Relations Director, where she supported Human Resource professionals at all levels of the organization with investigations, disability and leave accommodations, wage and hour compliance, handbook and policy development and training, reductions in force and employment law compliance.
Megan attended law school at the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, where she earned honors upon graduation. She holds a Masters of Business Administration and a Bachelor’s degree from Kent State University in Kent, OH. Megan is also certified by HRCI as a Senior Professional in Human Resource Management.
